I've been following the Common Sense Papers for a long time now, and I must say that the Common Sense 250 proposal gives me hope. I really think that We the People can make this work!
I believe that most Americans believe in common sense and would be willing to come together and build common ground. I see this platform as well thought-out and actually viable. I know that a well-functioning system of governance is worth taking a risk on and worth trying something new. In short, I trust that there remains an effective struggle to be made - I'm all in.
"like a person who continues putting off some unpleasant business from day to day, yet knows it must be done, hates to set about it, wishes it over, and is continually haunted with the thoughts of its necessity." - Unfortunately this is strongly embedded in human nature. We will put off the ugly business until it becomes so painful that it becomes worth doing. We are very, very close to that point.
